…That’s my self imposed Time to Get off of the Computer time.  I’m going to do up a few chores and then head upstairs to my happy, clean crafty area.  I finally finished sorting and putting away this morning, leaving me with a nice expanse of space.  I resumed work on Cadence’s cherry corduroy jumper, putting in the hem during nap time.

I have to admit, that the excess of craft supplies i’ve amassed over the past year has me a bit,…oh….forlorn?  Adding to that is the fact that I have 13 yards of fabric (I think,..maybe 14 or 15) heading this way from around the country to add to the enormous pile that isn’t fitting my storage AND today I got another box from my scrapclub (insert very chagrined smile here).

But it’s good.  Right?

Overall, these are pretty good. I skipped the pumpkin pie spice and just added some similar spices of my one (1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp ground cloves). Emily gave them a thumbs up and the baby and the dog liked them too. Oh, and if you drop them onto your cookie sheet you have to flatten them.

Mine looked nowhere NEAR like the one’s in my Woman’s Day (there’s were tiny and very flat and round). Mine were big and sort of ….bumpy? The recipe claimed to make 60 cookies and I made 48 so I didn’t grossly over do the size.

I also used a pastry bag to pipe on the icing. It was easier, IMO, then trying to spread a dollop on each cookie.

A monthly scrapbook club I belong to is doing a special album project for 2007. The premise is to keep a weekly diary and then scrap a page to accompany it. I love the premise, with some revisions, and this is my first offering.

I have done a week by week album in the past and it was stressful, to say the least, trying to find things to say on those weeks when you really didn’t do anything that felt…I don’t know..preservation worthy. I do believe, quite strongly, in preserving the “mundane”, for various reason but most of them related to my love for history, but we might have done something “scrapworthy” about 1/3 of the year, leaving 2/3 of the year in which to celebrate the “mundane”. It was hard. Add to that the times a year where we did a LOT in a week (and attempting to pin it down into one, one page layout for size and volume’s sake) and it was just a difficult undertaking.

So, I’m going to try this. I’m journaling six days a week with one day reserved for a quote I find meaningful or interesting and only scrapping an accompanying layout of the weeks where I feel like I have something to scrap about.
